Why Covenant Title Corporation?

Covenant Title Corporation is dedicated to serving our customers, and we realize the amount of time and energy that goes into buying a home, both from the buyers themselves to the agents that spend hours assisting them. We know that the most work gets done after the buyer decides on a house, and we do what we can to make your job easier, as well as doing the title work.

We also know the expense that goes into purchasing a home, therefore we make every effort to keep our rates reasonable for your buyer so there is even less of a burden on the buyer.

What sets Covenant Title Corporation apart from other title companies?

Though we provide the same general services as other title companies, from the title search and examination to the settlement table and post-closing, the small size of our company allows for personal contact when you call with questions, and personal care when you send us your business. Unlike larger companies, we do not operate like a factory, and your file will not get lost or delayed in the shuffle.

As a courtesy to our fellow real estate professionals, we provide free Continuing Education classes for Maryland agents, so that the license renewal process is less painful, and you can get your required credits at a time convenient to you.

Where are we?

Our offices are located in Annapolis, Salisbury and Towson. Though we have offices in three locations, we are essentially located everywhere you are. If you are doing a settlement in Frederick or Ocean City or anywhere else, we'll be there. We come to you, whether its to do a purchase settlement or even to teach one of our popular CE classes.

Title Insurance

One of the most important things we do for our customers is provide title insurance to protect the purchaser from anything that may not have been known at the time of settlement. The title insurance policy ultimately says that if the status of the title is other than represented at the time of settlement, and the purchaser covered under the insurance incurs a loss due to the defect on the title, the title insurance company will reimburse the protected party for that actual loss up to the coverage amount on the policy and will pay for legal expenses. Though required by the lender on the loan, title insurance for the buyer is optional, but we strongly encourage that they buy it for their own protection.

We offer title insurance through Old Republic Title of Maryland. To calculate the Maryland Title Insurance rate, visit Old Republic's Rate Calculator.

We also offer escrow services for the purposes of 1031 "Starker" exchanges. This popular, tax-deferred method of exchanging property requires the use of a "qualified intermediary" (QI). Covenant Title Corporation can act as the QI in most such transactions.
